Description: Kairouan is a Muslim holy city which ranks after Mecca and Medina as a place of pilgrimage. The Great Mosque is said to largely consist of its original building materials. In fact most of the column stems and capitals were taken from ruins of earlier-period buildings, while others were produced locally ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kairouan ). This video is made from footage I gathered on a 2 day trip in Tunisia and around 2007.

Please stop saying ridiculous things about islam!There is only 3 holy mosques (Or places)in islam: The Kaaba (the first house on earth built to pray god...the construction began by Adam then finishd by Abraham and his son Ismael) , the mosque of Medina (constructed by the last prophet Mohammed) and the mosque of Elcods in Palestine...Concerning the mosque of Kairouan, at a certain time was the most important mosquee in Africa...that's all! Kairouan is not a holy city!
