Not sure how I got here but looking at some comments I noticed most of you misinterpreted... he's not making fun of her, he's making fun of the people who were inevitably going to talk trash. He didn't care that she flubbed the lyrics. He was making fun of people who would make it an issue and giving an extreme example of how they would do that. It was C-level comedy...not racism.

i get it you have to have crap to talk about so you dog a terrific singer that would run vocal laps around us both. Making a "mistake" is more creative freedom and the foundation american in based on. To say it should be pre-recorded is ridiculous, obviously it should be personal choice, but how artificial life would be if it was"pre-recorded". Also, when someone is truly passionate while they are singing they often ad lib which in my opinion is testament to her patriotism.

I was born in America and what he said at 3.40 really shocked me. Apparently someone needs to teach him the word Mexican American. There is no reason Christina Aguilera shoudn't have been able to sing the national anthem. Plus the way he just blurted it out like that shows that he didn't put a lot of thoght into what he said.

If someone sings our National Anthem on TV while millions of people are watching them then they are opening themself up to criticism. It doesn't matter how well I sing, she is the one who agreed to sing our National Anthem on TV.I was embarrased for her. Forgetting a line is somewhat forgivable, but, I just couldn't listen to the yodaling.And, for the record, I could do a much better job.
