Oates is more prolific. Her writing is superior to Kurts. But he didn't seem to devote as much of himself to his writing.

Taylor Caron
Throughout both writers career's, Oates was/is the consistently superior writer.

RIP KV! When books or movies, etc. are censored or burned it makes them infamous. If local politicians or a schoolboard banned a book, I would want to run out and get a copy to see what all the fuss was about. These fools draw more attention to what they're trying to "save" us from by announcing it.

Goob By Blue Monday God Bless You Mr. Vonnegut

Polemic
Watching JCO speak right after Vonnegut is almost comically sad. She just sucks at everything.

Michael Quinn
It was about a lot of things. Censorship was one of those things.

lizziemae122000
I like JCO's writing, but this is the first time I've seen her speak or interviewed. Something about the way she reacts and comments makes me uncomfortable...

ljpelicano
what was that book? (cut out) hahahahahaha

halflifeproductionz
@imdavidavid man after reading his bio i see why he has this pessimistic outlook on the world.

pareku
Could you recommend something from oates?

maya meows duh
God I hate the uneducated, always so jealous and spiteful, its sad.

ZUTARAROX
SHE WAS SPAWNED FORTH FROM THE GATES OF HELL THEMSELVES AND HER PRESENCE HAS HOUNDED ME EVER SINCE! AND YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO ASK ME WHAT, EXACTLY, SHE HAS DONE TO DESERVE HATRED? Well, fine, I admire audacity and so I will tell you (lean in closer, my child): HER VERY EXISTENCE IS A HORRID TAINT ON THE FACE OF HUMANITY!!!!!

tokyocooney
so it goes

@the1andonlyMizMoon I actually didn't think about it that way, but its true for the most part. If I hear about a banned book, I definitely want to take a look at it but that might just be because of all the Vonnegut I've read and the perspective he's taught me, the average person would not. Not to say I'm an above average person, I've just had the fortune of finding Vonnegut early in my life and he's taught me many things. RIP Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

blueknuckle
So it goes.

God I hate pricks. So pompous.

RockyBalboa211
