Review This captivating thriller -- based on extraordinary true-life events -- was honored with an Academy Award(R) nomination! Political terrorists, in a desperate bid to focus the world's attention on their fight for freedom, kidnap an American Ambassador (Alan Arkin, AMERICA'S SWEETHEARTS). Now, the diplomat's life hangs in the balance ... helplessly caught between a government unwilling to cooperate ... and his fear of the captors themselves! Directed by Bruno Barreto (A VIEW FROM THE TOP) and acclaimed by critics as one of the year's best films, FOUR DAYS IN SEPTEMBER is an explosively charged motion picture that delivers egde-of-your-seat excitement!
Pan Am Season 1

Review From Award-winning Director Bruno Barreto (View from the Top, Bossa Nova, Four Days in September, Donna Flor and Her Two Husbands). Based on the true love story of Elizabeth Bishop and Lota de Macedo Soares. This sumptuous English-language 50s period piece recounts the years of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Elizabeth Bishop (Miranda Otto, Lord of the Rings) when she left America to live and write in Rio de Janiero where she would fall in love with well-off architect Lota de Macedo Soares (beautifully handsome Brazilian star Glória Pires). Bonus Features- Featurette, Theatrical Trailer, Closed Captions.

Review Gabriela, Cravo & Canela (1983)
Dir: Bruno Barreto
Marcello Mastroianni / Sonia Braga / Paulo Goulart / Nicole Puzzi / Jofre Soares / Flavio Galvao

O cenario principal e a Bahia.

In 1925, Gabriela becomes cook, mistress, and then wife of Nacib, a bar owner in a small Brazilian coastal town runs by the local colonels. Nacib becomes tired of Gabriela's uneducated ways, and annuls the marriage when he finds her in bed with his friend Tonico. The political ways of the town modernize slightly and Gabriela returns as Nacib's mistress.
