Jeff Beck first gained attention in 1965 after replaing Eric Clapton in The Yardbirds. Jimmy Page at one point was brought in to play bass with the group and later The Yardbirds featured both Beck and Page on lead guitar. After leaving the group, Jeff Beck embarked on a solo career releasing 'Hi Ho Silver Lining'. Beck later formed one of the many 'Jeff Beck Groups' with Rod Stewart, Ron Wood and Aynsley Dunbar which released the albums 'Truth' and 'Beckola'. In 1972 Beck formed a group with Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice. In 1975 Beck released 'Blow By Blow' which was produced by George Martin , the album combined elements of jazz-rock, funk and soul. The album was a big seller. The following year 'Wired' was released, also produced by George Martin and featured Max Middleton and Jan Hammer. This album moved further into jazz-rock. "There And Back' was released in 1981 featuring musicians Tony Hymas on keyboards, Mo Foster on bass and Simon Phillips on drums. Beck has played both Gibson and Fender guitars.
